On Intuitive Eating

In this episode of heartbeat, Dr. Brooke Stuart dives into a discussion on intuitive eating. When we pair structure with a solid and resilient foundation, it becomes much easier to flow. This flow, in turn, can enable intuitive eating, which can be achieved through various forms of structure.

  • Do Diets Work?: I believe that they do. Diets can work for certain people at different points in their lives, and there is a lot that we can takeaway from the structure that they often create.
  • Nervous System Dysregulation: When our nervous systems are dysregulated, it becomes more difficult to hear what we need to hear to make the choices that align with health and growth.
  • Structure & Flow: When we have the structure paired with a solid and resilient foundation, it’s much easier to flow.
  • Intuitive Eating: Intuitive eating becomes possible when we implement structure and flow. Your structure can come in many forms: giving thanks for your food, taking a couple of deep breaths, balancing macronutrients, etc.
  • Self-Study: Commitment to self-study allows us to get to know ourselves. How can we care for ourselves if we do not know ourselves?
