Welcome to the eighth issue of heartbeat, the life of the Let Go & Grow Community! I am so happy you are here. Here, you will continue to receive direct messages, practical tips and all of my favorite recommendations on all things health x growth- straight to your inbox every Sunday morning.

To keep it simple, I will only choose 5. 5 carefully curated recommendations and resources that can directly impact your health, well-being and whole life experience.

Think session notes, new exercises, supplements, health gadgets, podcasts, books, recipes and more.

So let’s get started shall we?.. with 5.

1. Session note from the week
You can set a powerful intention for the week to empower your goals and to allow life to work for and with you in unique and special ways. Intentions have the ability to set life in motion. For exact steps and ideas, check here.

2. Healthy tip to consider
If you haven’t had recent labs, meaning once a year, I highly recommend looking into a practitioner who can order and interpret them through a functional lens. Much can fall through the cracks and catching the right markers at the right time can bring about clarity, improved quality of life and move disease to health.

If you are interested in the markers I typically check in my practice and would recommend for you, feel free to message me by replying to this email or apply to set up a free 20 min consultation.

3. The book I finally ordered
I’ve read summaries and excerpts of Obliquity by John Kay, on how our goals are best achieved indirectly, many times over the past couple of years- but I have yet to read the full book, end to end… so that must change! Just ordered.

4. Pumpkin Pie Recipe
This week, I was recently featured in Orlando’s It’s Just Yoga Magazine, where I shared a healthy pumpkin pie recipe with alternative sugars. For the full article, including a list of alternative sugars, check p. 13 here.

For the recipe, see below…

First, preheat the oven to 375 degrees
Then stir up the filling: ½ cup coconut palm sugar, a tbsp. of Pumpkin Pie Spice (aka cinnamon, ginger, cloves, nutmeg), a pinch of sea salt, a dash of vanilla, 2 large eggs, 1 can (15 oz.) 100% Pure Pumpkin, and 1 can (13.5 oz.) full fat coconut milk
Pour the filling into the crust, which you can either make your own or pick on up at your local health foods store. I’ve used the “Wholly Wholesome Gluten Free Pie Crust” in the past
Bake for about 50 min., check with a tooth pick
Cool on a rack for about an hour, then refrigerate
Top with coconut cream before serving! I simply use a can of coconut cream, 2 tsp. of coconut palm sugar and ½ tsp. of vanilla extract- whip for about 30 seconds and voila, the perfect pumpkin pie

5. A supplement I am very interested in
As a holistic doctor, I dive deep into supplementation to support the healing process and the natural ways, including mindset – diet – and lifestyle, that can drive the same mechanistic effects. Recently, I’ve been learning more and more about NAC and glutathione, a master antioxidant in the body- and have been pairing my buffered vitamin C protocol with NAC- noticing great clinical outcomes. For the right people, it can be like turning on the lights.

For more information on NAC and its researched benefits, check out this article by healthline. If you struggle with detox and autoimmune like symptoms, such as fatigue, exhaustion, trouble breathing, sleeping, addictive behavior, mood disorders and more, you may want to look into this supplement.

It, by all means, is not a cure all- but if you have a strong and proper foundation, it can definitely be helpful.
